Cancer Patients Must Have Access to Oral Chemotherapy Medications

Yet, many cancer patients throughout the country cannot access oral medications because insurers place them on the highest “specialty” tiers, which have the highest out-of-pocket costs. Therefore, strong oral chemotherapy parity laws are needed across the country. Such legislation would require third-party payers to provide coverage of oral chemotherapy medications on pare with the coverage of IV chemotherapy treatments.
