Patient Lawsuits over Denied Hep C Treatment Access Increase

Lawsuits against insurers are cropping up over consumers’ claims of being denied access to hepatitis C treatments. Over the past two weeks, multiple women have sued a health insurer due to their outright denial of the Harvoni hepatitis C treatment. Drug makers are setting restrictions before providing coverage to some hepatitis C patients, with the hope of limiting the number of patients for whom coverage is provided.
